NYU Non-Stern Students

As a NYU Non-Stern student (other than those in joint-degree programs) you can take up to six credits per term, but you must register through your division program advisor. Reservations for Fall 2014 will be accepted from June 20 through September 2 (Day classes) and September 17 (Langone clasases).

Reservations for Summer 2014 is still ongoing until May 13 for Summer I classes and June 30 for Summer II classes.


  • Please be aware that some core classes are restricted.
  • Please be aware that the Stern Graduate School of Business uses a different Summer 2014 and Fall 2014 calendar than the regular NYU calendar.
  • All students enrolled in Stern graduate courses must adhere to Stern's policies and procedures including the Code of Conduct along with the default policies for Stern courses.
  • If you are not registered on Albert by the end of the registration period, you will be automatically dropped from the class.
  • Non-Stern students may not audit Stern MBA classes.
Check Your Prerequisites
Before registering for courses at the Graduate Stern School, please confirm (with your advisor) that you have met the prerequisites for the course(s) by reviewing the prerequisites with our online Course Descriptions.

Course Registration Procedure

  1. The Summer and Fall 2014 Course Schedule
    Real-time updates of Stern course info is found on the Stern website, in contrast to Albert. You can search by department or print the entire schedule. Course requisite information is also found on the website.
  2. Cross Registration Form
    Submit the form to your academic advisor for certification of requisites and communication of your request to Stern. You do not need approval from a Stern Academic Advisor. Please know that approved methods of establishing proficiency in a requisites is found on the Academic Affairs webpage. Details may be discussed with your home school adviser. Please note that professional experience does not establish proficiency in any requisite.
  3. Permission Codes
    If seats are available in the class, your advisor will be given the permission code. You will need this code to register through Albert.
  4. Stern Account Activation
    Students automatically get a Stern account after registering; this account must be activated in order to access Stern class resources.
