PIRAS OLIVEIRA RECEIVES
HAROLD PRICE ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARD
AT NYU STERN'S PRECOMMENCEMENT May 2003.
At New
York University Stern School of Business' Precommencement ceremonies for
graduating MBA students, which took place on May 14, 2003 Gustavo Piras
Oliveira, a graduating MBA, was awarded the Harold
Price Entrepreneurship Award by the Berkley Center for Entrepreneurial
Studies. This award, which is endowed by the Price Institute for Entrepreneurial
Studies, is given annually at Precommencement to a graduating student
pursuing an entrepreneurial career who has attained outstanding achievement
in entrepreneurship studies and student leadership, and who intends to
initiate or participate in founding a new enterprise after graduation.
Gustavo
has attained an outstanding GPA in his graduate studies with a specialization
in entrepreneurship as well as demonstrating outstanding leadership abilities.
During his tenure as the president of the Latin American Business Association
(LABA), one of Stern's most active student clubs, the club has expanded
the Latin American database of alumni, and hosted a Global Business Conference.
In addition to his club activities, Gustavo wrote a case on social entrepreneurship
involving a start-up serving the educational needs of entrepreneurs in
Brazil.
