Elizabeth Boyle joined the NYU management faculty as a Visiting Professor in January 2011 after serving on the strategy faculty at the National University of Singapore for 5 years. Professor Boyle’s research is primarily focused on competitive decision making and industry emergence. Her work has been published in the top academic journals in the field of management including, the Administrative Science Quarterly and Organization Science. She also co-authored a book titled, “Organizational Dynamics of Creative Destruction: Entrepreneurship and the emergence of industries”. Professor Boyle completed her undergraduate studies in political science at the Catholic University of America in 1983. After 3 years in advertising at Young & Rubicam she earned an MBA in Finance from NYU and joined the firm now named J. P. Morgan Chase in retail banking. After 6 years in branch management and strategic planning she returned to Stern to complete a doctorate in Management and Organizations. Professor Boyle teaches courses on leadership, corporate entrepreneurship, strategy, and negotiation. She has also conducted seminars on decision making for Bridgestone and innovation for Sime Darby, one of the largest conglomerates in the world.
