The computers and software available in the IT facilities are for
use by Stern students and students enrolled in Stern courses for
course-related work purposes only.

Students should not save any data to the computer's hard disk (c
or d drive).

For security and maintenance reasons, users are not given access
to do the following: install software or save files on the computer
hard drives and/or change computer settings. Stern students are
not to use the computers for entertainment purposes (play games,
surf the web, chat, etc.) Internet protocols and ports other than
web browsing have been blocked for security reasons.

All computers are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Users waiting for a computer must wait in a single file line outside
the computer lab for the next available computer.

Helpdesk assistants provide support for the lab workstations and
their software. Assistants make rounds to check on the computers
and equipment several times a day. Any problems with workstations
should be reported to the Stern Helpdesk in KMC UC-120, 212-998-0180
or via email at: helpdesk@stern.nyu.edu.

Food and drinks are not allowed in the computer labs. Those with
food or drinks will be asked to leave.

Students must provide their own USB storage device or save their
work to their h: drive.

Stern IT is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Found items
should be turned into the security desk in the lobby of the appropriate
building.
