NYU Home Undergraduate Stern Tab

An Undergraduate Stern tab, for enrolled undergraduate Stern students only, is available as part of NYUHome. 

The Undergraduate Stern tab features announcements, events listings, and links to frequently used Stern applications (e.g. Stern Connect mail) and web pages. In addition, the tab will feature a virtual suggestion box that allows students to communicate directly with the Undergraduate College Deans' Office or one of the Undergraduate College’s student-run Deans' Advisory Boards.  

Support for the tab will be provided jointly by Stern and NYU ITS. 

Access to NYU Home Undergraduate Stern tab

Only Stern undergraduate students will be able to see the Stern tab. To view the Stern tab, login to NYU Home with your regular NYU Home (not Stern) login and password.

Overview of NYU Home Undergraduate Stern tab channels

The Stern tab consists of four channels: Sternlinks, Virtual Suggestion Box, Stern announcements and Stern Events.  Channels may be moved around on the tab. Using NYU Home Preferences, you may select a color scheme or skin.  There is a Stern skin available.

Sternlinks includes information from the Sternlinks ugrad tab located at: http://w4.stern.nyu.edu/sternlinks/sternlinks.cfm?doc_id=1884.  The information has been reformatted and not all the links available on Sternlinks webpage are available on the Stern NYU Home tab and vice versa. 

Virtual Suggestion Box is a simple webform that allows students to choose a destination for the message and type in a short text message.  The destinations map to appropriate Stern mailing lists and the messages sent will be seen by members of the relevant list.

Stern Announcements channels has four variations: freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior.  The relevant announcement channel for each student, based on their enrollment information in SIS, will appear automatically.  The announcement channel can be customized by clicking on the + sign in the upper right corner of the channel and then clicking on the edit button that appears.  The edit box will allow a student to select which announcements they wish to see from the list of freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior.  A student may select to view multiple class announcements, if they wish.  After making selections from the edit menu, select save.  The selected class announcements will then appear in the Stern announcements channel.  If a student does not see any announcements in the Announcements channel upon login, he or she can follow the same process described above to find and add the appropriate feed.

Stern School-Sponsored Events channel provides students will a list of upcoming Stern undergraduate events.  All students see the same events regardless of their class standing.  The events are feed from the undergraduate events pages located at: http://w4.stern.nyu.edu/uc/currentstudents/eventViewer.cfm, which was created by Stern IT.
