Configure your iPhone to sync with Stern

Note: These instructions cover full sync (mail, calendar, and contacts) of your Stern account to your iPhone.

Warning: Syncing your Stern account with your iPhone my overwrite data such as contacts previously stored in your iPhone.

1. From your iPhone main menu, select Settings.

2. From the Settings menu, select Mail, Contacts, Calendars

3. From the Mail, Contacts, Calendars menu, select Add Account...

4. From the Add Account menu, select Microsoft Exchange.

5. On the Exchange page, enter your information as follows:

Email: your Stern email address ex. tst123@stern.nyu.edu (NetID format only, don't use your personal address here)

Domain: skip this optional entry

Username: enter your Stern login ex. tst123

Password: enter your Stern password

Then select Next.

6. The next screen to appear confirms your account settings. A new line called Server is now visible. On that line students should enter connects.stern.nyu.edu and select Next. (Note: Faculty/staff/administrators should enter connecte.stern.nyu.edu for server name.)

7. You will see your phone verifying your settings. A screen will appear asking you which items you wish to sync. Select the options you desire, bearing in mind syncing may overwrite existing iPhone data.

8. Select Done. A screen will appear that will allow you to set additional mail preferences.

9. When done selecting your preferences, return to the main menu. View your mail by selecting the mail icon. View your calendar by selecting the calendar icon.

10. Return to Settings, then Mail, Contacts and Calendar at any time to change your preferences or delete your account.
