Improvements to UC70 Lounge
Stern is pleased to announce that a new media system has been added to UC70 lounge to allow for music and media to be played in the room. Cellular phone coverage for most major cell service providers is now available in the UC70 lounge. In addition, two printers have been added to UC70 to provide a convenient location for printing when studying and working in the lounge.
Personal and Club Web Address Change
We have changed the format of web address for personal and club webpages. The new format is: http://people.stern.nyu.edu/netID. This new style of web address is easier to remember and type and we hope this change improves the usability of personal/club web space. The previous style of web address (http://pages.stern.nyu.edu/~netID) will continue to function through August 31, 2007.
Spamblock Login and Daily Spam Digest
Stern is now offering MBA students two new spam services. First, all MBA's have access to view messages sent to their Stern address that were stopped by Stern's enterprise spam filter. To see your messages, login to spamblock.stern.nyu.edu. Beginning in mid-April, you will receive a daily spam digest email to your Stern address. The daily digest will contain a summary of all spam messages sent to your Stern address. If you wish to retrieve a message, click the link in the daily spam digest or visit spamblock.stern.nyu.edu to deliver the message to your Stern inbox. If at anytime you do not wish to receive the daily spam digest message, login to Simon to turn it off.
Notebook Requirement for MBA Students Beginning in Fall 2007
Beginning Fall 2007, entering full and part-time MBA students will be required to own a notebook computer. The goal of this requirement is to ensure students will be equipped to access the resources needed to successfully complete their program of study. Incoming students will be able to choose between bringing a notebook computer they already own or purchasing a new notebook computer. Stern has collaborated with Dell to offer a recommended Stern notebook. This new requirement reflects the increased reliance on technology in education.
