Purchasing a new laptop for school?

Prepare for printing at Stern by naming your new laptop with your Stern NetID.

  • When asked to create a user name in Window OS or a username in Mac OS, please enter your Stern NetID (or NYU NetID)

    ex: xyz123 - it should be 2 to 3 letters and 2 to 4 numbers combination

What do I do when I get to Release Station?

What is Release Station?

A release station is a computer or touchscreen located near each printer or group of printers. After you have sent your print job to the Print@Stern printers, you will need to login or use your ID card to swipe into the Release Station and release your print job. Select the release station located next to the printer or group of printers you wish your print job to print at. After you select and release your desired print jobs from the release station they will immediately print to the nearby printers. The release station will inform you exactly which printer your job was sent to.

Once you have locate a open Release Station, get to login screen as you see below.

You may login using Stern NetID and Password or
simply swip your ID card and make sure you hear a beep which indicates successful reading of your card

Upon successful login, you will be shown the list of the jobs

You could select one or number of jobs by hold donw the Shift key and select jobs.
System will indicate how many sheets and cost of selected job(s)

Also, you have option to delete any job(s) you do not wish to print anymore, by selecting a job and click on Delete at the bottom right hand.

When you are ready to print jobs, simply click on the Print button to release the job
System will indicate which printer has your job, and your current balance, but printers are right next to you.
