Joint-degree Registration

Students register through one school only each semester. A student should register through the school in which s/he is taking the most number of credits. Each joint-degree program has different residency requirements. Please refer to the joint-degree program sequence for further details. It is important for joint-degree students to maintain contact with the Office of Records and Registration and the Academic Advising office of each school in order to receive registration materials. Joint-degree students should inform these offices of any changes of address or enrollment status.

Registration in Stern Courses
All joint-degree students must meet with the Stern joint-degree advisor before registering. Your registration card must be approved before being processed by the Office of Records and Registration. You must provide a valid telephone number on your registration card because students are contacted if courses are closed or cancelled. Once your registration has been processed, you will receive confirmation of your schedule and a receipt from Stern's Bursar Office. If registering through the Web, results will be available on the Web.

When registering through other schools and taking Stern courses, the student or advisor must contact the Stern joint-degree advisor to ensure the student is temporarily reserved in the Stern course(s) the student wishes to take. A call number and access code will be given at a later time to the student so that the student can officially register for the Stern course(s) through Torchtone.

Registration in non-Stern Courses
Check with your department for appropriate procedures. The department administrator will assist you with academic advice and familiarize you with the policies and procedures specific to your department. After you have consulted with an academic advisor, a department representative will authorize you for registration through Torchtone.
