Working with the newly formed Capital Planning Division of NYC’s Department of City Planning, Simon proposed a practical framework for incorporating "triple-bottom-line" thinking – economic, social and environmental considerations – into New York City's $84-billion Ten-Year Capital Strategy. “I had the chance to influence how New York achieves its vision of a more equitable, sustainable and resilient home for millions. I chose to come to NYU because it creates opportunities like this, and the SIIF Fellowship helps make them possible to pursue.”
