Based in New York City, Literacy Partners seeks to strengthen families by offering language and literacy classes for parents and child development programming to boost children’s early reading skills, school readiness and social-emotional growth. MBA students Jamie Hill, Bradley Hunter, Michaela Monroe, Frank Verhaegen and Li Zhou proposed new student evaluation and recognition methods to cultivate a robust ambassadorship program, developed actionable recommendations to strengthen relationships with local community-based organizations, created a system for identifying new partner sites for expanding the literacy program and developed strategies to build community among students through social media.

“This project allowed us to pursue a philanthropic passion of ours while incorporating MBA frameworks to carefully analyze the organization and offer impactful recommendations,” Bradley said. “In consultation with Literacy Partners’ leadership, we identified the recommendations that would have the maximum expected results, and we executed on those strategic plans.”
