Part-time Graduate Student: New Student Fall 2012
Financial Aid
If you applied for a Federal Stafford Loan and are certified by Graduate Stern Financial Aid office as eligible, write this amount minus the origination fee on the mandatory Tuition & Fees Worksheet Payment Form. To be eligible you must be enrolled at least half time (a minimum of six credits per semester). This credit will enable you to register without the actual loan receipt of the proceeds, (which takes approximately 4-8 weeks to arrive). Submit this form with any payment balance to the Stern Bursar Office by the payment deadline. If you applied for a private loan, you must enclose a copy of the lenders approval notice, and indicated this amount on the mandatory Tuition & Fees Worksheet Payment Form. You must submit this form and payment for any balance due by the payment deadline to the Stern bursar Office.
Credit cannot be extended unless your loan is approved.
All student loan funds are sent directly to the Office of the Bursar in the form of either a two-party check made out to both the student and New York University or by electronic funds transfer (EFT). When we receive your check, we will contact you, notifying you that your check is awaiting endorsement. After you sign the check, it will be applied to your account. When we receive your EFT, we will automatically credit your account if you meet the eligibility requirements.
The total time lapse from the application for a student loan to disbursement of funds is approximately 4 to 8 weeks. Students should plan accordingly. Visit the Financial Aid Web page for details.
