Orientation and CLP Leaders
Mentor new students and build leadership skills
Each year, the Office of Student Life invites approximately 35 students to be part of the Orientation Leader program. Orientation Leaders mentor, welcome, and guide new students as they begin their Stern experience. Orientation leaders actively participate in all Orientation and Welcome Week activities for incoming freshmen and transfer students. Specifically, Orientation Leaders will lead team-building exercises and other creative activities during this fun and high-energy week.
Following Orientation, 20 Orientation Leaders continue to work with freshmen by serving as Cohort Leadership Project Leaders. Each CLP class section has two upper class student leaders assigned to their group who assist with the implementation of the CLP class each week. They also serve as a great resource for freshmen students throughout the first semester.
The application process for both Orientation Leaders and CLP Leaders is competitive and requires an extensive interview process which includes a written application, a group interview process, and an individual interview for qualified applicants.
