Tuition & Fees
Visit the NYU Office of the Bursar to view a current listing of tuition and fees and the refund schedule.

A standard semester's tuition payment allows Stern students to register for 12-18 units during that semester.

When students register for courses totaling more than 18 units, additional tuition fees are charged on a per unit basis. When students register for courses totaling fewer than 12 units, they typically pay for those courses on a per unit basis rather than standard tuition rate. Students in their terminal semester are the only students permitted to take fewer than 12 credit points.

Registering for fewer than 12 units either at the outset of the semester or due to course withdrawal mid-semester may jeopardize a student’s degree progress and can result in academic probation. This situation may also result in having to take more than 18 units during a subsequent semester in order to meet degree requirements in a timely manner. Exceeding 18 units in a given semester will result in additional tuition and fees.

Contact the Office of Academic Advising if you are considering any of the aforementioned options.

Visit the Office of the Bursar and/or Financial Aid for individualized consultations to plan for how your course load may impact your tuition and financial aid packages. Specifically, you can refer to the University Tutition Refund Plan. International students should also consult with the Office of Global Services to ensure there are no immigration implications as a result of changes to your credit load.

Scholarships
Recognizing Excellence

Scholarships and grants are funded through federal, state, and institutional resources. For undergraduate students in the Stern School of Business, most scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis according to both academic merit and financial need. If awarded an institutional scholarship, your notification letter should include the scholarship amount.
