Social Events

The Office of Student Engagement hosts numerous social events to provide opportunities for students to engage with faculty, alumni, administrators, and each other in a social setting.

Block Party

The purpose of Block Party is to kick off the school year with a fun, interactive, and engaging event that allows students to reconnect and celebrate the start of a new academic year. Block Party is a large, carnival style event that takes place on Gould Plaza and is open to all Stern students, faculty, and administrators. Block Party 2014

Freshmen: Cohen Arts and Culture Experience (CACE)

The purpose of the Cohen Arts & Culture Experience (CACE) is to introduce freshmen to the variety of arts and culture programming in New York City. Each CACE event accommodates 15-20 students and is led by a faculty or staff member. These events expose students to New York City's rich artistic and cultural diversity and provide the opportunity to engage with fellow classmates, faculty, and staff members. CACE image

Senior Social

Senior Social provides an opportunity for seniors to connect with their peers and alumni in an informal setting over food and refreshments. Seniors will receive personal and professional advice from alumni, discuss career tracks, and share their Stern experiences. Senior Social is also an excellent way for alumni to reconnect with the Stern community. Senior Social 4

Stern Cohort Program

The purpose of the Cohort Program is to foster community at Stern both inside and outside of the classroom. Students begin their cohort experience at New Student Orientation and continue to build their cohort communities through curricular, co-curricular and social activities.

With respect to social engagement, cohorts interact across class years throughout the fall semester through a series of Cohort Mingles. The Stern Student Council and Cohort Directors work with the Office of Student Engagement to create spring cohort programming that aligns with the undergraduate college's mission to foster exploration, collaboration, and engagement.
