Another Way To Get Involved With Nonprofit Organizations
The NYU Stern Board Fellows program matches Stern MBA candidates with the boards of New York City-based nonprofit organizations for nine month fellowships. MBA students act as non-voting board members, serve on committees and complete a strategic project for the organization. Some examples of strategic projects include:
- Analyzing current fund-raising efforts
- Benchmarking marketing activities
- Developing a strategic planning process
- Building a financial model to improve planning and track costs
Once accepted to the program, teams of two Fellows will be matched with boards through a mutual selection process based on student interests and the needs of the organizations
Program Coordination and Support
The NYU Stern Board Fellows Program is administered through the Office of Student Engagement (OSE). Representatives from the OSE will serve as primary contacts for providing feedback, requesting assistance and addressing issues that may arise.
Students also will be supported throughout their fellowships with sector and project-specific training led by professors and other experts.
