Student Perspectives

The Board Fellows experience has come incredibly handy for me. I am working for two charter schools (both non-profits) and right when I started I asked to attend board meetings to get a better sense for the organization. Since charter schools are public entities, their board meetings are open to the public though they do close the door for executive sessions. In any case, I felt extremely comfortable and had clear expectations for conversation topics and structure. Subsequently, I have now joined each school's Finance Committee and I can't imagine that I would have been as prepared for this role had it not been for my Board Fellows experience.

Board Fellows is an incredible program for any professional who is looking for first-hand business experience at the executive level. I had the opportunity to tackle board issues and projects that I would otherwise not be privy to until years into my post-MBA career. Working alongside my mentors and the Board of Directors was extremely eye-opening and rewarding.
