MBA/MA in Politics
Designed for students interested in careers spanning business and government, the dual MBA/MA in Politics program offers a broad understanding of the relationship between business and politics.
Admission to the MBA/MA in Politics programTo apply for the dual MBA/MA in Politics degree, candidates must complete a separate application for each program. No additional admissions standards are applied to dual degree applications at either school. The student qualifies for the dual MBA/MA degree program upon admission to both schools. Please note that it is possible to be admitted to both programs, only one program or neither program in this process.
Individuals who already hold one of the individual degrees are not eligible for admission to the dual degree program.

Program StructureThe MBA/MA in Politics degree takes 2.5 years to complete, as opposed to the three years that it would typically take to complete each degree independently. The first year is spent at NYU Stern, the second year is split between Stern and GSAS, and the final semester is spent completing the MA in Politics degree. MBA/MA students register with either NYU Stern or GSAS depending on where they are taking the majority of their credits in a particular semester.
Tuition & Financial AidMBA/MA in Politics students pay full tuition at the school through which they are registered each semester. If a student exceeds the maximum number of credits and/or courses permitted per semester by the school in which she/he is registered, the tuition and fees for the additional credits must be paid to that school.
Merit scholarships are awarded based on the admissions application to each school. Financial aid, including federal and private loans, is awarded through the school at which a student is registered in a given semester. In addition, students may obtain Teaching Fellowship or Graduate Assistantship positions, which offer tuition remission.

Career ServicesStudents are encouraged to take advantage of all counseling and placement services at both Stern and GSAS throughout their academic program. Career counselors are available to aid students in areas such as résumé preparation, interviewing techniques, networking and career option assessment. Dual degree students should become familiar early in the program with career services offered at each respective school.
