Overview of Custom Programs

What is a custom program?

Stern faculty and the Executive Education team partner with organizations from around the world to design, develop and deliver specialized professional development programs. Tailored for executives, business leaders and functional managers of a single company or entity, custom programs transform organizations with each learning experience.

How can a custom program help my company?

We work with you to develop highly-customized, application-oriented initiatives that result in enhanced individual and organizational effectiveness. We can address year-over-year growth and other key challenges you are facing. Our experiential initiatives, whether in capability building or in transformative change management, aim high to move your strategy from vision to action; to imagine what's possible and to unlock potential.

I am looking for a program for myself or for a small group of individuals (fewer than 20). Is a Custom Program right for me?

Thank you for considering NYU Stern in your search for an Executive Education provider! Our Custom Programs are designed for groups of 20 or more employees from an organization. We encourage you to consider our portfolio of Short Courses to meet your learning needs.

What topics are typically included in a custom program?

Your custom program can draw from the full breadth of Stern faculty expertise, integrating topics in strategy, leadership, finance, marketing, innovation and more.

Who are the faculty presenters in a Stern custom program?

Stern has more than 200 full-time research and clinical faculty, including 3 Nobel Laureates, and a robust pool of practitioner adjunct faculty. When possible, we also include key executives from your organization and / or industry practitioners.

What is the price of a Stern custom program?

Pricing is based on a number of factors, including program length, number of participants and where the program is held. Please contact us for more details.

How many people can participate in a custom program?

Stern custom programs are optimized for groups of 25-40 people; however, we can cater to any group size based on the needs of your organization. Contact us today to discuss options for your program.

Will participants receive a certificate for attending a custom program?

Yes. Participants who complete a Stern custom program will receive a certificate of participation.

How do I begin the process?

Logistics

Where are Stern's custom programs held?

Our custom programs can be deliveredin NYC at the NYU Stern campus in Greenwich Village or at a domestic/international location of your choice. If you elect to have the program at Stern, sessions will be held at the Stern Kaufman Management Center located at 44 West Fourth Street.

How do I get to NYU Stern's campus?

New York University Stern School of Business is located at:

Flight Options into New York
Fly into John F. Kennedy Airport, La Guardia Airport or Newark Airport, then take either a taxi or public transportation to NYU Stern or New York City.

Taxi Service
  • Taxis and car services are available at all local airports and, although they cost more than public transportation, are generally your best bet.
  • Ask your driver to take you to West Fourth Street and Greene Street.
  • Plan on spending at least $25 to $40 depending on the airport and time of day. Often tolls are in addition to the fare and not on the meter. Tipping a courteous taxi driver is customary in New York City.

Public Transportation

          Airport Shuttle Bus
  • If you would like to take public transportation from any of the local airports, take an airport shuttle bus to either Port Authority Bus Terminal or Grand Central Station, then:
  • From Port Authority, follow the subway directions for the Eighth Avenue Subway on the "Subway" or "Bus" sections.
  • From Grand Central, follow the Lexington Avenue Subway on the "Subway" or "Bus" sections.
          Airtrain
  • Airtrain service runs from JFK and Newark Airports. Please visit the Airtrain Website for more details.
  • For travel from JFK it is advisable to connect in Jamaica to New York Penn Station.
  • Once you arrive in Penn Station follow the A, C, E Subway directions on the “Subway" or "Bus” sections
          Subway
  • Depending on your location in the city, you can do one of the following to get to Stern:
    • Take the green Lexington Avenue subway (6 train) to Astor Place Station. Go west on Astor Place to Broadway. Turn left (south) on Broadway and walk to West Fourth Street. Turn right (west) on West Fourth Street and walk to Washington Square East. Turn left into the courtyard. NYU Stern will be on your left.
    • Take the yellow Broadway subway (R or N train) to Eighth St-NYU Station. At Broadway, walk south to West Fourth Street. Turn right (west) on West Fourth Street and walk to Washington Square East. Turn left into the courtyard. NYU Stern will be on your left.
    • Take the orange Sixth Avenue subway (F, M, B, or D train) to West Fourth Street Station. Walk east on West Fourth Street to Washington Square East. Turn right into the courtyard. NYU Stern will be on your left.
    • Take the blue Eighth Avenue subway (A, C, or E train) to West Fourth Street Station. Walk east on West Fourth Street to Washington Square East. Turn right into the courtyard. NYU Stern will be on your left.
    • Take the red Seventh Avenue subway (1 train) to Christopher Street-Sheridan Square Station. Walk east on Christopher Street to West Fourth Street. Continue east on West Fourth Street to Washington Square East. Turn right into the courtyard. NYU Stern will be on your left.
          Bus
  • All Greyhound and New Jersey Transit buses go to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. From there, take the Eighth Avenue subway as described above or a taxi to West Fourth Street and Greene Street.
  • New York City M1, M2, M3, M5, M8, M21, M101, M102 and M103 buses all offer stops within walking distance of NYU Stern.
Once You Arrive
  • When you arrive at the intersection of West Fourth Street and Greene Street, you will be in front of Stern's Gould Plaza.
  • For NYU Stern Executive Education visit the Henry Kaufman Management Center, located at 44 West Fourth Street.
