Establishing Proficiency in Core Classes

Students may establish proficiency in order to waive some Core courses. Each year, the academic departments determine proficiency requirements. These may include majoring in a subject, taking a proficiency exam or having a professional certification such as a CPA. If you waive a Core course, you will still need to fulfill 60 course credits at Stern to complete your MBA, however you will be able to take more elective courses.
