Core Curriculum

Build a broad foundation of business knowledge

The core curriculum provides you with valuable exposure to a broad range of business topics prior to taking elective classes and pursuing specializations. The Stern MBA is 60 credits; 33 credits are core classes.

Waiving Core Classes

Students may waive some core courses. Each year, the academic departments determine waiving requirements. These may include majoring in a topic, taking a proficiency exam or having a professional certification such as a CPA. If you waive a class, you must replace it with an elective.
