International Studies Program

Experience global business firsthand

Through our one-of-a-kind Barr Family International Studies Program (ISP), every Stern junior in the business program and in the BPE program (beginning with the BPE Class of 2017) studies abroad for one week.

In the spring of your junior year, you take the ISP course which explores differences in the economic, cultural, and political histories of countries and how these disparities translate into strategic opportunities and challenges for international firms today. You focus on a specific industry and then travel overseas with your classmates to meet with company executives in that industry and observe the country’s culture firsthand. With all juniors in the business program and in the BPE program taking part, this program is the only one of its kind offered as part of an undergraduate business degree.

ISP is made possible thanks to the generous support of Stern alumnus and Overseer Edward Barr and his wife Nancy.
