Concentrations

Choose your specialization

During junior and senior years, students complete a four-course sequence in a business concentration (at least one and a maximum of 2) of their choice. Concentrations may be earned in:

Accounting
Actuarial Science
Economics
Finance
Management
Marketing
Information Systems
Statistics

In addition, Stern offers specializations in Entertainment, Media and Technology and Entrepreneurship. Students are not required to select a concentration until the end of sophomore year, at which time they will have completed most of the core business courses and will be in a good position to select the concentration that best suits their interests.

Majors at the College of Arts & Science

Students may choose to pursue a major at the College of Arts & Science. Early planning is a must for this option, because students must complete all curricular requirements for both programs. Some students are able to do this during the traditional fall/spring schedule, while other students may decide that they need to take summer courses or an additional semester in order to complete a major. Students interested in completing a major should meet with an academic adviser in September.
