Paulson Auditorium NYU Stern School of Business 40 W. 4th Street The 2025 Credit Opportunities Symposium brought together leading academics, practitioners, judges, investors and market participants to discuss the latest strategies of credit investors, insights from keynote speakers into the credit cycle and the rise of private credit, the current fundamental and technical landscape in the loan markets, the future of liability management transactions and other hot topics in corporate restructuring The Agenda for the conference included: **Keynote Conversation** with Marc Lasry (Avenue Capital Management) moderated by Sonali Basak (Bloomberg) **The Cross-Asset Class Credit Opportunity**. John Cortese (Apollo Global Management) in conversation with Jeff Meli (NYU Stern) to discuss the future of private credit markets. **Liability Management Twists and Turns**. This panel discussed the latest trends in liability management, including changes in debt documentation, cooperation agreements, deal structures, and stakeholder behaviors. The Panel included Noah Charney (King Street Capital Management), Bill Derrough (Moelis), Joshua Feltman (Wachtell), Joshua Katzeff (Carlyle), moderated by Harvard Zhang of Octus. **Lightning Round: Hot Topics in Credit Restructuring**. This panel discussed the flip side of coercive liability management strategies: the increasing use of DIPs and exit financings that are structured to provide exclusive opportunities to a subset of creditors. The panel also unpacked other topics in corporate restructuring. The panel included David Hillman (Proskauer) as Moderator, Prof. Vince Buccola (University of Chicago), Kevin Eckhardt, (Octus), Judge Craig Goldblatt (Bankr. Court Delaware) and Brian Resnick (Davis Polk). **Views from the Loan Market**. Ted Basta (LSTA) first reviewed recent loan market technical and fundamental trends. The Panel then discussed how recent equity volatility has impacted the loan market and recent geopolitical issues (such as tariffs) and where opportunities lie. The panel also explored growing concern about loan market liquidity arising from changes in documentation. The panel also included Harpreet Anand (Oak Hill), Dan Pombo (J.P. Morgan) and Evan Lederman (JF Lehman) as Moderator. **Unlocking the Credit Cycle: Insights into Leveraged Finance and the Rise of Private Debt**. Professor Ed Altman led a compelling discussion of his groundbreaking approach to defining and forecasting the credit cycle, with a special focus on the pivotal leveraged finance market.
