Wilmers, CEO of M&T Bank, for a discussion entitled “Community-Minded Banking.”

Wilmers opened the event with prepared remarks, speaking to the culture and values of M&T, before moving to a discussion moderated by Professor [Tensie Whelan](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/tensie-whelan). Wilmers, who has served as CEO of the bank since 1983 and been an integral part of the organization’s 104-consecutive profitable quarters, explained that M&T is committed to diversity and inclusion at all levels.

“Adapting to change requires opening the mind to new perspectives,” said Wilmers. “We believe that diversity and inclusion leads to a richer dialogue. We know a diverse workforce makes us stronger, smarter and more well-developed.”

Following the discussion, Wilmers answered questions from the audience. You can read more about Wilmers [here](https://newsroom.mtb.com/leadership-team/robert-g-wilmers.htm).
