# Interning at PVH Corp.'s Corporate Responsibility Group

*Tell me about your summer internship experience. Where did you work and what types of projects did you work on?*

This past summer, I interned in PVH Corp.’s Corporate Responsibility Group. I worked on a range of projects mostly within supply chain management such as, benchmarking companies based on factory worker wages and updating factory information in its disclosure management system. My final project, which I presented to the entire Group and to fellow interns, was on gifts with purchase within different company segments. I traced existing gift with purchase policies in PVH’s business units and created a list of suggestions to increase transparency and to promote unity in regard to this topic across the firm.

*What was the most valuable thing you learned at your internship?*

Through my internship, I learned the key differences between bolt-on and embedded sustainability and some indicators to determine when a company is using sustainability for marketing purposes or for future growth. One example of this is where in an organization its CR Group sits; in PVH, the Group reports to the Chief Risk Officer which to me demonstrates its intention as a risk mitigation tool for the betterment of the company.

*Did your summer internship experience change your thoughts about your career trajectory moving forward?*

I loved my summer experience as it provided the appropriately rewarding and educational components of an internship following my sophomore year. I did learn, however, that going forward I would like to take what I learned from the corporate responsibility side and infuse it with a more finance related approach.
