The Economist [article](https://applied.economist.com/articles/how-do-you-go-carbon-neutral), "How do you make your company carbon neutral?" affirms this by contending that focusing on energy procurement can deliver benefits across the supply chain by reducing risk and improving resilience.

[NYU Stern CSB's Sustainable Marketshare Index](https://www.stern.nyu.edu/experience-stern/about/departments-centers-initiatives/centers-of-research/center-sustainable-business/research/research-initiatives/csb-sustainable-market-share-index) is highlighted in the article to affirm the business case for companies' uptake of sustainable marketing strategies. According to the index, products marketed as sustainable saw higher sales than their conventially-marketed counterparts between 2015 and 2019.

Excerpt: "The process is the same regardless of the size of the organisation: understand your carbon footprint by measuring your emissions; set an ambition, such as being net-zero or carbon negative; and take action by reducing and offsetting those emissions."
