"[When Transparency Pays: The Moderating Effect of Reporting Quality on Changes in the Cost of Debt](https://www.brookings.edu/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/cuny.pdf)," co-authored by Professor [**Christine Cuny**](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/christine-cuny) and PhD student **Svenja Dube**, was awarded a Best Paper award at the [Sixth Annual Brookings Municipal Finance Conference](https://www.brookings.edu/events/6th-annual-municipal-finance-conference/) on July 17. The American Accounting Association (AAA) recently awarded Professor [**Yiwei Dou**](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/yiwei-dou) with the [2017 AAA Competitive Manuscript Award](http://aaahq.org/About/Directories/2016-2017-AAA-Committees-Task-Forces/Award-Committees/Competitive-Manuscript-Award-Committee/Award-Criteria) for his paper, "[The Spillover Effect of Consolidating Securitization Entities on Small Business Lending](https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=2727958)." Professor [**Anindya Ghose**](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/anindya-ghose) was recently named to the 2017 [Thinkers50 shortlist for its Digital Thinking Award](https://gallery.mailchimp.com/dec9e7dbfe150d92bafee193e/files/d147aab4-267d-4b5c-83c3-81a23d6af858/THINKERS50_AWARD_SHORTLISTS_2017.pdf), which celebrates the thinker whose work has best helped understand how digital technologies have transformed organizations and human behavior On August 5, Professor [**Jason Greenberg**](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/jason-greenberg) received the Outstanding Publication in Organizational Behavior Award for his co-authored paper, "[Activist Choice Homophily and the Crowdfunding of Female Founders](http://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/0001839216678847)," at the 2017 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management in Atlanta. The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded NYU Stern Professors [**Jason Greenberg**](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/jason-greenberg), [**Gino Cattani**](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/gino-cattani) and [**Joseph Porac**](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/joseph-porac) a $294,291 grant to support their research on competition and entrepreneurial performance in the New York City restaurant industry. Professor Emeritus [**William Guth**](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/william-guth) was honored with the [Chris Argyris Lifetime Achievement Award](https://business.leeds.ac.uk/about-us/article/business-school-sponsors-chris-argyris-lifetime-achievement-award/) at the 2017 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management for his significant and lasting effects on strategic management which span the birth, growth and maturity of the field in its various dimensions, including business policy, strategic management and corporate entrepreneurship. Professor [**Xiao Liu**](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/xiao-liu) received the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Grant for her project on "Impact of User-generated Content on Purchase Intention: Text-mining of Big Data from Mobile Social E-commerce Platforms." Professor [**Bruce Tuckman**](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/bruce-tuckman) has been appointed Chief Economist for the [US Commodity Futures Trading Commission](http://www.cftc.gov/PressRoom/PressReleases/pr7604-17), effective September 2017. Professor [**Amy Webb**](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/amy-webb) was recently named to the 2017 [Thinkers50 shortlist for its RADAR Award](https://gallery.mailchimp.com/dec9e7dbfe150d92bafee193e/files/d147aab4-267d-4b5c-83c3-81a23d6af858/THINKERS50_AWARD_SHORTLISTS_2017.pdf), which celebrates an individual most likely to shape the future of business and business thinking.
