# Faculty Awards & Accolades – December 2015

Stern's Center for Business and Human Rights recently received a $250,000 grant from Humanity United for its "Gulf Labor Recruitment Initiative."

On November 9, Professor **[Pankaj Ghemawat](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/pankaj-ghemawat)** was named one of the top 20 management thinkers in the 2015 THINKERS50 [global ranking](http://thinkers50.com/t50-ranking/2015-2/) of top management thinkers and recognized at an awards gala in London.

Professor **[Stijn Van Niewerburgh](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/stijn-van-nieuwerburgh)** was recently elected to the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA) Board of Directors.

NYU Stern faculty and alumni were recently honored at the [2015 INFORMS Annual Meeting](http://meetings2.informs.org/wordpress/philadelphia/) in Philadelphia. Honorees included:
Professor **[Anindya Ghose](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/anindya-ghose)** received this year's INFORMS ISS [Distinguished Fellow Award,](https://www.informs.org/Community/ISS/Awards/ISS-Distinguished-Fellow-Award) which recognizes outstanding intellectual contributions to the information system discipline through impactful publications and doctoral student mentorship, from the INFORMS Information Systems Society.

Professor **[Anindya Ghose](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/anindya-ghose)** and PhD student **Vilma Todri**'s co-authored paper, "[Towards a Digital Attribution Model: Measuring the Impact of Display Advertising on Online Consumer Behavior](http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=2638741)," was nominated for the Best Paper Award at the 2015 INFORMS [Conference on Information Systems and Technology](https://www.informs.org/ORMS-Today/Public-Articles/April-Volume-42-Number-2/CIST-2015), held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting.

Professor **[Srikanth Jagabathula](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/srikanth-jagabathula)** won the 2015 INFORMS [Revenue Management and Pricing Section Prize](https://www.informs.org/Recognize-Excellence/Community-Prizes-and-Awards/Revenue-Management-and-Pricing/Section-Prize).

Professor **[Hila Lifshitz-Assaf](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/hila-lifshitzassaf)** was an honorary finalist for the INFORMS [Best Dissertation Award](https://www.informs.org/Recognize-Excellence/Community-Prizes-and-Awards/Technology-Innovation-Management-and-Entrepreneurship-Section/Best-Dissertation-Award) from the Technology, Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship Section.

Professor **[Prasanna Tambe](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/prasanna-tambe)** was honored as one of three finalists for the INFORMS [Management Science Best Paper Award](https://www.informs.org/Community/ISS/Awards/Management-Science-Best-Paper-Award-in-Information-Systems) in Information Systems.

Stern alumnus **Jason Chan** (PhD '14) won the 2015 INFORMS ISS [Nunamaker-Chen Dissertation Award](https://www.informs.org/Community/ISS/Awards/INFORMS-ISS-Nunamaker-Chen-Dissertation-Award) for his work on "Social and Health Impact of Internet Platforms," supervised by Professor Anindya Ghose.

Stern alumna **Gal Oestreicher-Singer** (PhD ’08), advised by Professor **[Arun Sundararajan](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/arun-sundararajan)**, was honored with the inaugural INFORMS ISS [Sandra A. Slaughter Early Career Award](https://www.informs.org/Recognize-Excellence/Community-Prizes-and-Awards/Information-Systems-Society/ISS-Sandra-A.-Slaughter-Early-Career-Award).

PhD student [**Matteo Crosignani**](http://people.stern.nyu.edu/mcrosign/) recently won the 2015-2016 Edwin Elton Prize for the Best Job-market Paper in Finance for his work entitled, “The Effect of Central Bank Liquidity Injections on Bank Credit Supply.”
