Scholar-in-Residence **[Gary Friedland](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/experience-stern/about/departments-centers-initiatives/academic-departments/business-society-program/faculty-staff/scholarinresidence/scholarinresidence)**’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on reform of the immigrant investor EB-5 program, which was based on his joint research with Professor **[Jeanne Calderon](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/jeanne-calderon)**, was cited in [regulations proposed](https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2017-01-13/pdf/2017-00447.pdf) by the US Department of Homeland Security on January 13. Professors **[Anindya Ghose](http://thinkers50.com/biographies/anindya-ghose/)** and **[Amy Webb](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/amy-webb)** were recently named to the [2017 Thinkers50 Radar](http://thinkers50.com/wp-content/uploads/T50RADAR_2017PRESSRELEASE_30Jan2017.pdf) list of the 30 thinkers most likely to shape the future of how organizations are managed and led. Professors **[Ralph Koijen](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/ralph-koijen)**, **[Theresa Kuchler](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/theresa-kuchler)** and **[Johannes Stroebel](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/johannes-stroebel)**, along with their co-authors, were awarded the 2017 Glucksman Institute Research Prize for their respective papers, “[An Equilibrium Model of Institutional Demand and Asset Prices](https://www.minneapolisfed.org/research/staff-reports/an-equilibrium-model-of-institutional-demand-and-asset-prices)” and “[Social Networks and Housing Markets](https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers2.cfm?abstract_id=2753881).” The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation honored Professor **[Johannes Stroebel](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/johannes-stroebel)** as a [2017 Research Fellow](https://sloan.org/fellowships/2017-Fellows), an award recognizing the achievement and potential among the next generation of scientific leaders in the US and Canada. Professor **[Marti Subrahmanyam](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/marti-subrahmanyam)** has been elected to serve a three-year term as a director on the Executive Committee of the [European Finance Association](http://www.efa-online.org/r//?iId=GKHHDG). He also recently joined the Executive Board of the [Indian School of Business](http://www.isb.edu/). Professor **[Arun Sundararajan](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/arun-sundararajan)**’s book, [*The Sharing Economy*](http://s12y.com), was one of the winners of the [2017 Axiom Business Book Awards](http://www.axiomawards.com/77/award-winners/2017-winners) in the "Economics" category. Professor **[Russell Winer](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/russell-winer)** has been recognized as an American Marketing Association (AMA) Marketing Legend for his contributions and commitment to the field and study of marketing.
