# The Storytelling Imperative

1 Opinion September 29, 2015Storytelling is as primordial an impulse as anything--as Professor [Naomi Diamant](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/naomi-diamant) puts it, "everything in life is about stories". Regardless of medium or mode of communication, the act of storytelling has remained unchanged: it's still about an impulse for engagement. So whether it's Dickens setting the scene, or a 140-character Tweet, the storytelling imperative remains.
