There could not have been a better year to live in Milan than 2015. The city is in the midst of experiencing its Golden Age, laying some solid foundations for its legacy while playing host to the EXPO. Although Milan has been an important industrial hub for the country’s economy since the Second World War as well as the Italian center of fashion and design for the past forty years, the city has now successfully earned itself a spot as a venerable tourist destination in a country well known for its vibrant culture and diverse history.
November 2, 2015Although weekend travels are undoubtedly an incredible benefit of living abroad, establishing my daily routine here has given me even more pleasure. The feeling I have when returning to Milan on Sunday nights is arguably my favorite: As soon as I reach Malpensa (the airport) or Centrale (the train station), I truly feel like “I’m home.”
It has been seven years since I last lived in Italy, and I am so thrilled to be back! After completing more than 45 credits in Greenwich Village as a Langone MBA student, I am now finishing my degree as a full-time student at SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan.
