Executive MBA Students Explore China and Vietnam on Global Study Tour
—
In January, a group of Executive MBA students traveled to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Shanghai, China for a Global Study Tour. The students toured the facilities of Nike, DP World and Doan’s Potters and met with executives from multinational corporations including McDonald’s, IBM, Microsoft and HSBC. Highlights of the trip also included visits to the Presidential Palace and History Museum in Ho Chi Minh City as well as a tea house ceremony in Shanghai.
“The Global Study Tour to Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai was an incredible learning experience for our class,” said Executive MBA student Matthew Fanelli. “Through meetings with a diverse group of companies in the region, ranging from financial institutions like HSBC to manufacturing companies like Nike, our class was able to gain tremendous insight into the opportunities, risks and challenges of operating in developing Asian markets. In addition, the Global Study Tour afforded us with an opportunity to network and socialize as a class that could never have been achieved in a traditional classroom setting. Being able to experience a new environment together as a class helped to create friendships that will last long after the program ends.”
