# 8th Annual Spring Symposium 2019

On April 30, the NYU Stern [Center for Real Estate Finance Research](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/experience-stern/about/departments-centers-initiatives/centers-of-research/center-real-estate-finance-research) will host its 8th Annual Spring Symposium, entitled "Impact Investing in Opportunity Zones: Real Estate and Beyond." The Spring Symposium will explore the new Opportunity Zone Program, created as part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and hailed by many as the most significant community development tool to drive investment capital to underserved communities. NYU Stern Professor [Jeanne Calderon](https://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/jeanne-calderon) and Scholar-in-Residence [Gary Friedland](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/experience-stern/about/departments-centers-initiatives/centers-of-research/center-real-estate-finance-research/overview/people/full-time-faculty) will serve as co-chairs for this full-day conference.
