# Center for Real Estate Finance Research Panel on Real Estate and Technology

NYU Stern's [Center for Real Estate Finance Research](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/experience-stern/about/departments-centers-initiatives/centers-of-research/center-real-estate-finance-research) hosted a panel on real estate and technology on February 23. The discussion focused on the growing role of technology in the real estate industry and the implications of that expansion. Vice Dean of MBA Programs [Raghu Sundaram](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/rangarajan-sundaram) kicked off the event and delivered opening remarks highlighting the recent Fintech initiatives at Stern.

The first half of the panel focused on the speakers and their respective companies, and how those companies were incorporating technology to change the real estate industry. Panelists included (left to right) Jordan Preston of LavaMap, Andy Klein of BullsBridge Capital, Javier Benson of RealtyShares, Shaleen Khatod of CoreLogic and Elliot Vermes of redIQ. Professor [Stijn Van Nieuwerburgh](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/stijn-van-nieuwerburgh), director of Stern’s Center for Real Estate Finance (third from right), moderated the discussion.
