# NYU Stern Center for Real Estate Finance Research Hosts Inaugural Conference

On Tuesday, May 15, the [Center for Real Estate Finance Research](/experience-stern/about/departments-centers-initiatives/centers-of-research/center-real-estate-finance-research), led by Professor [Stijn Van Nieuwerburgh](http://w4.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/stijn-van-nieuwerburgh), held its inaugural conference. The day’s agenda focused on topics and issues in the real estate industry, with presentations from Stern faculty, including Reforming the GSEs and Financial Sector Reform.

The day concluded with a panel discussion on the current and near-term prospects of commercial real estate including esteemed alumni panelists: William Mack (BS ’62), Philip Milstein (MBA ’74) and Larry Silverstein (ARTS ’52).
