# The Rise and Risks of Private Credit

On Monday, April 8, 2024, the NYU Stern [Volatility and Risk Institute](https://www.stern.nyu.edu/experience-stern/about/departments-centers-initiatives/centers-of-research/volatility-and-risk-institute) and the [International Monetary Fund](https://www.imf.org/en/Home) (IMF) hosted an event with a presentation and panel discussion on the new IMF April 2024 Global Financial Stability Report, focused on a chapter titled, “The Rise and Risks of Private Credit.”

Panelists included: Justin Lawrence, Adams Street; Greg Margolies, ARES; Jim Millstein, Guggenheim; Fabio Natalucci, IMF; and NYU Stern Professor [Gustavo Schwed](https://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/gustavo-schwed). The panel will be moderated by NYU Stern Clinical Professor [Richard Berner](https://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/richard-berner), co-director of the Volatility and Risk Institute.
