Excerpt from [Barron's](https://www.barrons.com/articles/blue-apron-is-planning-a-reverse-split-heres-what-it-might-mean-51558749873) -- "Researchers from New York University’s Stern School of Business and Emory University found that in 1,600 reverse splits from 1962 to 2001, shares underperformed nonsplit peers by 15.6% in the first year after the split, 36% in the second, and 54% in the third."
