# Professor Bruce Tuckman highlights regulatory pressure as a factor in the growth of the Treasury repo market

Excerpt from [Bloomberg](http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-08-11/one-sign-treasuries-liquidity-is-better-than-it-s-been-in-years) -- "'There has been enormous regulatory pressure on financial institutions to reduce risk,' [Tuckman](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/bruce-tuckman) said. 'Therefore, deleveraging has not only reduced the overall size of the repo market, but has also increased the fraction of the market in Treasury repo.'"
