# Professor Lawrence White is interviewed about the role of the housing market in the recession

'Housing prices fell dramatically from their peak in 2006. Nationwide, the average value of a home dropped 30 to 35 percent. We certainly learned in the recession, investing in a house is not a sure-fire way to build wealth.'"
