# Professor Roy Smith discusses Goldman Sachs's contributions to Jeb Bush's presidential campaign

Excerpt from [Bloomberg](http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-02-01/goldman-sachs-wallets-closing-after-bankers-bets-on-bush-sour) -- "'The money he raised early was largely in order to give him the chance to blow the others away early, which we know he did not do,' said [Roy Smith](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/roy-smith), a finance professor at New York University’s Stern School of Business who was a Goldman Sachs partner until 1987. 'In hindsight, they may regret giving the money -- or not, I don’t know. Maybe this isn’t over.'"
