# Professor Vasant Dhar discusses the future of artificial intelligence

[Dhar](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/vasant-dhar) said. 'One of the consequences of this change that has occurred in AI is that you now have a machine that has learned how to learn, which historically has been the purview of human beings. The machines can now learn stuff autonomously, and you have no idea whether it’s learning desirable things or undesirable things.'"
