# Only At Stern: Professor Michael North, Decoding How Age is Reshaping the Workplace

## What does Professor Michael North research?

Through nearly 20 years of research, [Professor North](https://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/michael-north)’s work focuses on age, ageism, and generational tension in the increasingly multigenerational workforce. Professor North, a social psychologist, has published research in leading academic journals, including:

- *Academy of Management Annals*
- *Academy of Management Review*
- *Journal of Experimental Psychology: General*
- *Journal of Personality and Social Psychology*
- *Psychological Bulletin*
- *Research in Organizational Behavior*, among others

The Association for Psychological Science named Professor North a Rising Star and he is an Elected Fellow of the Society of Experimental Social Psychology, among other accolades. He is also writing a trade book on his research for a broader audience.
