Jacob French joined New York University Stern School of Business as an Assistant Professor of Economics in September 2022.

French conducts research focused on understanding sources of welfare inequality with a primary focus on applied microeconomic work in labor and education economics. He is particularly interested in the impact of new technologies on incumbent workers, demographic disparities in educational attainment, and access to neighborhoods of opportunity.

He received dual BS degrees in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Minnesota and a PhD in Economics from Arizona State University.
