Nicolas de Roos joined NYU Stern as a Visiting Associate Professor of Economics in September 2018. He is also Associate Professor at the University of Sydney. Professor de Roos received his Bachelor of Economics with First Class Honours from the University of Adelaide and his PhD in Economics from Yale University.

At Stern, Professor de Roos teaches courses in microeconomics. His primary research area is industrial organization, with research interests in collusion, market dynamics and decision making under risk; and a focus on retail gasoline markets. His research articles have appeared in journals including the American Economic Review, RAND Journal of Economics, the Journal of Applied Econometrics and the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control.

Professor de Roos has previously worked at the University of Virginia, Bates White Economic Consulting and the Reserve Bank of Australia.
