She situates her work in a Marxist-Foucauldian feminist framework, as she investigates practices of social reproduction, social change, and subject formation in the context of late capitalism. Current research focuses on contemporary experiments in affirmative world-making that span the domains of art, activism, and collective sustenance. Shannan joined the Stern School of Business as an Adjunct in 2021. She holds a current Visiting Assistant Professor joint position in Peace, Justice & Human Rights plus Writing at Haverford College.
