# Class of 2027 | Graduate Convocation | FAQs

## Frequently Asked Questions

***What is the difference between Graduate Convocation and Commencement?***

Graduate Convocation is for Stern’s graduate program candidates ([see list of programs recognized](http://stern.nyu.edu/graduation/class-2027/graduate-convocation)), along with their families and friends. The Stern School ceremony recognizes each student individually. Stern’s Graduate Convocation for the Class of 2027 will take place on Friday, May 14, 2027, at the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden.

NYU’s All-University Commencement is for all students graduating from New York University. With thousands of students expected to attend, graduates are not recognized individually by name. Instead, the deans introduce each class as a whole and a student representative, who is selected in advance, receives a symbolic degree on behalf of their classmates.
