# Faculty Awards & Accolades – July/August 2016 1 Research Highlights August 1, 2016 ![](/sites/default/files/styles/246w/public/assets/images/trophy-article.jpg?itok=9-13tVO7)> The Carnegie Corporation recently honored Dean **[Peter Henry](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/peter-henry)** on its annual list of “[Great Immigrants: The Pride of America](https://www.carnegie.org/news/articles/2016-great-immigrants-pride-america/),” which recognizes more than 40 naturalized citizens who have made notable contributions to the progress of American society. Professor **[Paul Romer](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/paul-romer)** has been selected by the [World Bank](http://www.worldbank.org/en/news/press-release/2016/07/18/world-bank-group-president-appoints-paul-romer-as-chief-economist?cid=EXT_WBSocialShare_EXT) to become its next chief economist, effective September 2016. Romer is currently the Director of the [NYU Marron Institute of Urban Management](http://marroninstitute.nyu.edu/) and University Professor, and the Founding Director of the [NYU Stern Urbanization Project](/node/37732). A multidisciplinary team of Stern faculty – led by Professor **[Ingo Walter](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/ingo-walter)** and including Professors **[Joel Hasbrouck](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/joel-hasbrouck)**, **[Michael Posner](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/michael-posner)**, **[Paul Romer](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/paul-romer)**, **[Michael Spence](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/a-michael-spence)**, **Paul Tice**, **[Stijn Van Nieuwerburgh](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/stijn-van-nieuwerburgh)**, **[Tensie Whelan](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/tensie-whelan)**, **[Lawrence White](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/lawrence-white)** and **[David Yermack](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/david-yermack)** – have been awarded a three-year grant totaling $750,000 from [NYU’s Global Institute for Advanced Study](http://gias.nyu.edu/) (GIAS) in support of their work on the global infrastructure challenge. Professor **[Tensie Whelan](http://www.stern.nyu.edu/faculty/bio/tensie-whelan)** has been appointed to the [advisory board of Arabesque Partners](http://www.arabesque.com/en/index.php?newsid=1818&menuks=444&tbdate=on), an asset management firm that integrates environmental, social and governance data with quantitative investment strategies. **[Matteo Crosignani](http://people.stern.nyu.edu/mcrosign/)**, a recent PhD alumnus, was awarded the “Young Economists’ Prize” at the [2016 ECB Forum](https://www.ecbforum.eu/en/content/ecb-forum/ecb-forum/ecb_forum.html) in Sintra, Portugal, in recognition of his paper, “[The Effect of Central Bank Liquidity Injections on Bank Credit Supply](https://www.ecbforum.eu/en/content/programme/young-economists/young-economists-papers-and.posters/crosignani-matteo.html).” On June 7, PhD student **Steven Dallas** received the 2016 [Behavioral Exchange (BX) Junior Scholars Award](http://www.behaviouralinsights.co.uk/bx2015/applications-now-open-for-behavioural-exchange-2016-junior-scholars-awards/), which recognizes scholars who are conducting cutting-edge research that intersects with policy or business, at this year’s [BX 2016 Conference](http://www.bx2016.org/) at Harvard University.
