Passport & Visa Requirements for all Participants

Passports: You must have a passport valid for a minimum of six months after your dates of travel. For this trip that means your passport cannot expire before the end of July 2020. More information on how to renew or obtain a U.S. passport can be found on the U.S. Department of State's website.

Tourist visas: Americans with U.S. passports (tourist passports) valid for more than six months beyond the dates of travel do not need a visa to enter Abu Dhabi if the duration of stay is less than one month. This includes U.S. citizens with visas or entry stamps from other countries. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please consult UAE's visa requirements. Students needing visas to travel will work directly with NYU Abu Dhabi staff to obtain the appropriate visa paperwork, rather than going to the UAE Consulate.  Detailed information on the visa application process will be provided once students are admitted into the program. Please note that the UAE visa cost is estimated to be approximately $357.00 USD.

Note: It is the student's responsibility to apply and receive the appropriate visas for their passports in a timely manner for the trip. Refunds are not provided for those students who fail to secure their visas.
