## Golub Capital Board Fellows Program

The NYU Stern Golub Capital Board Fellows Program provides MBA students with the opportunity to learn more about what it is like to be on the board of a non-profit. Teams of three to four students are partnered with a New York City-based nonprofit organization to complete a board-level strategic project while attending board meetings and working alongside board and organizational liaisons. Students translate data and insights into actionable recommendations to help advance organizational priorities and strengthen governance. **Non-profits** can apply to participate in our 2026-2027 cycle [here.](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lfzuELGSPTwjaPSzLQvhOB6Bv4n9P2en/edit)

With the assistance of the Office of Learning Innovation’s Experiential Learning team, as well as a program advisor who is an expert in board service and governance, Fellows will be matched with one of our partner boards in teams of three-four. Our selection and matching process reflects each student’s strengths, as well as each organization’s needs. Facilitated peer-learning sessions will ensure that Fellows are also able to hear about other students’ unique board experiences.

Applicants should be enthusiastic, committed, professional students with the skills and initiative to take full advantage of this exciting and unique opportunity. Prior experience with non-profit work is not required! This course is a fit not only for those interested in the social sectors, but for any student interested in sitting on a non-profit board one day.

Some MBA students are eligible for this program. This program may not be offered each semester or every year. The program offering and teaching faculty are subject to change. **Current Students** can view our CampusGroups website below for more information on eligibility, the application process, registration timeline, and program policies.

The Board Fellows Program is funded by Golub Capital. This gift allows Stern to grow and improve the Board Fellows program.

## Student Testimonial

"This course is great for both Full-time and Langone MBA students who have an interest in working with or for nonprofits in the future (or who have in the past). It gives great perspective of the differences of a non profit vs commercial company board, and gives you a wider set of skills and practices that could be applicable in work in all different fields." - Board Fellow '24-25
